Bullying! No Way!

On the 19th March 2021, Sirius College, Shepparton, celebrated National Anti-Bullying Day. This day was exciting and fun for the whole school. Students were all happy about the pledge. They put paint on their hands and put their handprints on the wall.

Just two days before this, on the 17th March, we went to the library as an incursion, in which we had a virtual reality experience about bullying. Many students enjoyed it.

After all these interesting experiences, many students realized how important it is to stop bullying. It can hurt people in many ways and is not a good thing to do.

Lots of students learnt the meaning of bullying. It’s when someone is consistently being mean to someone else, verbally, physically, mentally or online. One out of five, (20.2%) students get bullied in schools. This means bullying is VERY COMMON!

You might be wondering why bullies bully in the first place. Well, there are many reasons.

Someone who bullies another person might:

So don’t misunderstand a bully, you should always try to find out why he or she is bullying.

If you’re being bullied, you should try and seek help. You should tell a teacher, guardian, friends or someone who you trust. You should know and they should know that bullying is not okay at all!

Our opinion on bullying is that it is just WRONG! There is no point in bullying. It might make you feel good but is it really worth it when you’re making somebody else feel bad? It shows you’re weak inside. I mean if you bully and you think you have “POWER” you don’t and don’t think it makes you cool at all. The person who you bully will see you as dumb and pathetic! So please don’t bully!

National Anti-Bullying Day was a great day for everybody, it was enjoyable and fun. Everyone was proud about the pledge and having their hands on the wall. Many people were happy to be in an anti-bullying school.
